Soft wind chime sounds are surrounding the place, motorbikes passing by on the „ring road“ … seems that the days are becoming settled and calm again… after a breathtaking end of the year.
Two significant events just happened within a week: the Opening of the new SVARAM Mainbuilding at the inner side of the ring, and the desastrous visit of cyclone Thane.
Let’s begin with the positive and even more sustaining milestone of SVARAM: The new building. Constructed and built in the last 9 months with a lot of effort of  the whole SVARAM crew. „It’s a new dimension for SVARAM“, Aurelio, the enthusiastic directer and sound expert tells to more then 100 guests on the opening day. „The new building is a result of 8 years participatory research and development. Transforming from a social educational project to a community-based enterprise, SVARAM is one of the few places on the Indian subcontinent that is creating new musical instruments accessible to everybody, independent of talent or predisposition, directly bringing the joy of music into one’s hands and heart.
